Britain agrees to use a vaccine

Britain announced its approval to use the “Pfizer-Biontech” vaccine against Covid 19, and it will be launched for use next week.

“The government today accepted the recommendation of the Independent Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) to approve the use of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine,” the British government said on Wednesday.

The government added in a statement: “The vaccine will be available throughout the UK from next week.”

For his part, British Health Minister Matt Hancock said Britain will start vaccinating the population against Covid-19 with the Pfizer vaccine next week, after the country’s regulatory body approved the vaccine on Wednesday.

He told Sky News: “From the beginning of next week, we will start a program to vaccinate the population against COVID-19 here in this country,” and described it as “great news.”

“I am very satisfied with this news. I am very proud that the UK is the first place in the world to have a clinically approved vaccine ready to be launched,” the minister continued to the media.
