The signing came after two rounds of negotiations and lengthy meetings, which brought together representatives of the Supreme Council of State and the Libyan Parliament in the Moroccan city of Bouznika on the distribution of 7 sovereign positions in the country, namely the governor of the central bank, the head of the Audit Office, the head of the Administrative Control Authority, the head of the Anti-Corruption Commission, in addition to the president. And the members of the Superior Electoral Commission and the President of the Supreme Court and with them the position of Attorney General.
This important and unprecedented agreement will rekindle hopes for a complete and definitive political solution in Libya, and will give positive momentum and new impetus to the rest of the negotiations and consultations between the parties to the conflict, which are taking place in various capitals of the world. world, and represents a unique and real opportunity to reunite the “enemy brothers”. And put an end to the Libyan conflict and achieve peace and stability in the country.
After Bouznika, Hurghada, Berlin and Montreux, Switzerland, the United Nations and the international community are betting on the resumption of the “Geneva Dialogue” between Libyans, which was suspended after the resignation of former UN envoy to Libya, Ghassan Salame, from his position last March, the second round of which is expected to take place in the middle of this month. Amid reports that he could be transferred to the island of Djerba, southeast of Tunisia, for logistical reasons, including the issuance of visas for participants.
This dialogue aims to generate understandings about the form of the new authority, since it is planned to discuss the separation of executive authority from the Council of the Presidency, reducing the members of the Council of the Presidency from 9 to only 3 members, in addition to renewing commitment to the results and implementation of the Berlin Conference, and calling on stakeholders to accelerate efforts to stop Shooting and commitment to the arms embargo imposed on Libya.
