On Sunday, the Ministry of Health and Population announced that 553 recoveries of the Corona virus have been discharged from hospitals, after receiving the necessary medical attention and recovery according to the guidelines of the World Health Organization, raising the total of the 11,015 cases have recovered from the virus to date.
Dr. Khaled Mujahid, adviser to the Ministry of Health and Population for Media Affairs and official spokesperson for the ministry, said that 1,226 new cases were registered that were positive in laboratory analysis of the virus, as part of the necessary surveillance procedures, investigation and examination conducted by the ministry in accordance with World Health Organization guidelines, pointing to 53 new deaths.
Mujahid said that according to the World Health Organization recommendations issued on May 27, 2020, the disappearance of symptoms for 10 days after infection is an indication of the patient’s recovery from the Corona virus.
Mujahid said that the total number that was registered in Egypt with the new Corona virus as of Sunday is 132,541 cases, including 11,015 cured cases and 7,405 deaths.
