Major General Mahmoud Sharawi, Minister of Local Development, announced the approval of the Minister of Justice to grant judicial control to the heads of centers, cities and neighborhoods and their deputies at the Republic level with respect to all crimes related to their jobs and departments, indicating that there is coordination and cooperation between local leaders of the governorates and the competent authorities in the implementation of the decisions of the Council of Ministers and Supreme Committee for the Management of the Coronavirus Crisis.
The Minister of Local Development called on citizens to adhere to the decisions of the Council of Ministers, maintain their distance, avoid social gatherings and wear medical masks, to preserve their health and safety, and Sharawi called on the governors to apply the immediate fines agreed in the meeting of the Supreme Committee for the Management of the Coronavirus Crisis, which will begin tomorrow Sunday in non-observers. By applying the precautionary measures and not committing to the use of medical masks, an immediate fine of 50 pounds will be imposed by them, and in case of non-payment, the offender will be transferred to the competent prosecutor’s office to take the measures necessary in this regard.
The declaration of the ministry is part of the follow-up of the Ministry of Local Development to the efforts of the executive bodies in the governorates to implement precautionary measures to limit the spread of the Coronavirus and implement the decisions of the Supreme Committee for Crisis Management of the Crown headed by the Prime Minister, and further the emphasis on canceling all celebrations and meetings and taking steps to shut down any facilities that take place.
