Harfoush explained that allowing the importation of poultry by-products of unknown origin is difficult to ensure that they are slaughtered in accordance with Islamic law, because they are collected from various slaughterhouses, in addition to entailing a 55% contraction of the national industry and the loss of approximately 35% of the investments of the poultry industry in Egypt.
