BBC Sports News broadcast urgent news of the Moroccan authorities imposing a quarantine on Moroccan Raja players for a period of 7 days.

The number of Corona virus infections among the Moroccan Raja Club reached 8 cases, and the Moroccan Ministry of Health decided to impose a quarantine on the team.

The Moroccan team had planned to travel to Egypt tomorrow in preparation for the game against Zamalek next Saturday in the absence of the semifinals of the African Champions League.

The Moroccan daily Al-Mukhtab had reported that the Ministry of Health had sent an official letter to the leadership of the Al-Raja Club demanding that the team go into quarantine for a week, after nine Corona cases appeared within the ranks of the team.

According to the Moroccan newspaper, Raja players will be subject to a new detection of the Corona virus on the 27th of this month, which makes the African Football Confederation “quite” demanding to postpone the second leg of the semifinal of the African Champions League.

Raja has only 16 players available to play the match against Zamalek, while CAF regulations stipulate that matches must not be postponed and played in case there are 14 players ready.

Mortada Mansour, president of the Zamalek club, had stated that he agreed to postpone his team’s match with Raja until the Moroccan team players recovered from Corona’s injuries.

Zamalek won the first leg unanswered by a wonderful header from Moroccan Ashraf Bin Sharqi in the 18th minute of the match.
