Al-Ittihad of Alexandria was crowned champion of the men’s basketball super league, after beating Al-Ahly in the fourth game of the “best of 5” series, with a score of 81-72, today Thursday, at the Palacio de la Youth and Sports, October 6.

Al-Ittihad of Alexandria decided the fourth match, in their favor, to end the series with a score of 3-1 in favor of the Sahel team, without the need for the fifth match, which will not be played once the title has been decided.

Al-Ittihad of Alexandria won the first, third and fourth matches, while Al-Ahly won only in the second match.

Match events

The match began with great superiority by Al-Ittihad of Alexandria during the first half of the period, since the coastal team knew how to face the triples with great precision, reaching the difference to 10 points in less than 5 minutes, until the technician asked Al-Ahly for a timeout to adjust the balance of the team.

Al-Ittihad continued to dominate the game until the end of the first half, with the Alexandrian team taking the lead with a score of 25-17.

And the superiority of Alexandria’s Al-Ittihad continued into the second period of the match, scoring another 25 points, while Al-Ahly scored just 16 points, and the first half ended with a score of 50-33 in favor of the Alexandrian team.

Al-Ittihad continued to secure his superiority over Al-Ahly in the third period, where he scored 17 points, while Al-Ahly only scored 14 points, and the match score came to 67-47.

Al-Ittihad of Alexandria played the fourth period calmly, and was able to score 14 points, while Al-Ahly scored 25, but this was not enough and the Alexandrian team was able to win the game in their favor 81-82, to take the Super League title too.

And after winning the Super League title, Alexandria’s Al Ittihad was able to clinch the title for the fifteenth time in their history, to be the most crowned team in the competition in the history of the game in Egypt.
