Barcelona confirms that it has received the censorship signatures of Bartomeu … and that the legal procedures have begun

Barcelona announced this Thursday night that it had received the votes of the recall process of the current council of the team led by Josep Maria Bartomeu, indicating the need to verify the authenticity of these signatures.

The Catalan club published an official statement in which it said:

– This afternoon, the partner Jordi Vary, promoter of the vote to withdraw confidence in the current Barça administration, handed over the signatures of the club members to support their request at the offices of the Barça fans.

Once the number of votes has been made, the total number is 20,687, and is pending verification in accordance with article 55.4 of the club’s laws.

– The voting procedures for the vote of no confidence in Bartomeu are carried out by virtue of article 55 of the laws of the Catalan club.

Article 55.1: In this case, every vote of no confidence affects the members of the current board of directors.

– Article 55.2: The number of valid signatures exceeds 15% of the percentage of members who have the right to vote, with the number of 16,520 signatures.

– Article 55.3: These signatures are received within 14 business days, counted from the day after the vote.

Article 55.4: From now on for a period of 10 days, a vote verification council is formed, made up of two members of the current council, the first two who signed the withdrawal of trust and a commissioner from the Catalan Football Federation.

During this period, the validity of the signatures must be verified, and that they comply with all the requirements, specifically those that have sufficient numerical support for the club members, this committee may cancel the validity of the unapproved signatures and request consultations necessary to ensure its validity.

If all these requirements are met, the campaign request must be declared accepted, and the Barcelona Board of Directors will be asked to call a vote, which must be carried out within a period of no less than the first business days, and no longer than 20 days.
