Chinese soccer club Tianjin Tianhai has filed for bankruptcy, according to a press report on Tuesday.

The British newspaper “The Guardian” reported that the Chinese club, which had previously contracted with Italian Fabio Cannavaro to coach the team, and Brazilian striker Alexandre Pato and Belgian Axel Vestel also played for him the most famous bankruptcy and his withdrawal from the scene.

Tianjin, founded in Mongolia as Hohhot Binhai in 2006, has suffered from its inability to pay since its former owner, Xu Bunwei, was arrested and sentenced to prison after that, as the Chinese league team finished second from below on last year.

The Guardian added that the Shenzhen team, which fell to second grade, after finishing last season in last place, will return to the Premier League to participate in place of Tinhai in the 2020 season, which was postponed due to the repercussions of the spread of the new Corona virus.

The newspaper quoted a statement from the club in which it said: “Given the financial situation that cannot be tolerated, the club can no longer do its normal things, after a period of thoughtful reflection … We have no choice but to dismantle the club”.

The Chinese league competition was scheduled to start in February, before it was postponed due to the repercussions of the spread of the new Corona virus.

The Chinese Football Association is studying various plans to resume the season, pending approval from the Chinese Sports Ministry to resume professional sports activity.
