Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said that the Turkish practices and interventions he described as “flagrant” in the affairs of many Arab countries represent “the most important emerging threats” to Arab national security.
This came during Shukry’s speech on Wednesday to the Egyptian-led Arab Ministerial Committee on Turkish Interventions in the Arab Countries, on the sidelines of the activities of the 154th regular session of the Council of the League of Arab States.
Shukry called for a “unified and determined Arab policy to deter the Turkish regime” through greater coordination among the Arab countries.

He said: “We must take a serious stand against all external interference in internal Arab affairs and refuse to transform our countries and societies into arenas for other people’s projects to extend hegemony, expansion and influence, at the expense of security, the stability and unity of our countries. “
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi had previously stated that the Egyptian army would enter Libya if the Tripoli government and its ally Turkey repeated their attacks on the coast of Sirte-Al-Youfra, which is a gateway to the ports of oil export under the control of the forces of Khalifa Haftar and his allies.
