The Libyan Government of National Accord announced the suspension of the functions of its Minister of the Interior, Fathi Pasha Agha, to investigate the demonstrations in Tripoli, according to Sky News Arabia.

The Libyan Government of National Accord decided to assign the undersecretary of the Interior Ministry, Brigadier General Khaled Al-Tijani Mazen, the duties of the Interior Minister following the arrest of Fathi Pasha Agha.

On Friday, Libyans in Tripoli continued their protests, under the heading of “unleashing al-Sarraj” millions, protesting against deteriorating living conditions, as armed militias loyal to Turkey and the government of Fayez al-Sarraj reinforced their presence at protest sites, to terrorize protesters.

Sky News quoted eyewitnesses as saying that an intense deployment of military vehicles belonging to militias loyal to the Sarraj government was witnessed in the Martyrs’ Square in Tripoli prior to the start of the demonstrations, and said they were carrying machine guns, while the activists Libyans said that the leaders of the Nawasi Brigade of the Tripoli militia “ contacted us and gave us the option. ” Between staying in our houses or facing certain death.

Tripoli has witnessed new protests against the government’s reconciliation policies and the low standard of living in the city, which is under the control of extremist militias linked to the government … This comes in light of criticism of the use of the violence against protesters, and calls for the release of hundreds of detainees held by the militias.

Media reports talk about the escalation of the dispute between Al-Sarraj and his Interior Minister, Fathi Pasha Agha, who promised to use force against armed militias, who indicated that they would be subordinate to Sarraj should they be exposed to protesters.

Local sources indicated that armed clashes broke out in the Al-Nawflien area of ​​the capital Tripoli, and local sites said armed groups roamed the Al-Nawflien area near Al-Sarraj’s home, following an exchange of gunfire. between armed men for unknown reasons.
