Essam El-Hadary, former goalkeeper and captain of the Egyptian team, confirmed that there are customs and traditions related to the Egyptian team, indicating that he permanently retired from football.
“We have nothing to do with what is happening in Europe and the world, as we have special customs and traditions in the Egyptian national team,” El-Hadary told the program “Jamhour Al-Talta” through On Time. Sports 2.
And he continued: “The matter has nothing to do with his goodness and his courage, he is a great player, and the leadership insignia will not lower or increase him. There are those who manufactured this crisis in the national team.”
He stressed: “We have gotten used in Egypt since we played football that the insignia is by seniority, one player surrenders to the other, but there are those who invented that crisis.”
“The matter is not the result of the last camp, but since the first camp of the Egyptian team with the current apparatus, it was not appropriate to involve Mohamed Salah in the crisis, all the players are partners and there should not be a crisis between them,” added.
He revealed: “There was already contact with me to return to the stadiums, but in the end it will not add to my story, and for that reason there is nothing new. I have completely retired from football.”
“I train like everyone else, this has become a way of life for me,” he added.
He concluded: “Currently, I am working to prepare well to enter the training field and obtain certificates and training courses. I will only coach the Egyptian national team or other teams if there are offers.”
