Amr Al-Ganaini, head of the five-year committee, which deals with Egyptian football affairs, responded to the Egyptian Football Association by removing the statement that Mohamed Salah had been infected with the new Corona virus (Covid 19).

Al-Ganaini said in remarks on MBC Egypt late Friday: “We were hopeful that the results of the second sample would be negative.”

The Egyptian Football Association had announced that Salah was infected with the Corona virus, before the statement was deleted, but Al-Ganaini returned again to confirm that the Liverpool star had the virus.

On the ban on various journalists on the social networking site “Twitter”, Al-Janayni replied: “By God, I don’t know. I only heard about this matter and I don’t know what a blockade is.”

Al-Ganaini also referred to the appearance of Mohamed Salah at his tribute ceremony, explaining: “The ceremony honoring Salah was remembered some time ago as the first Egyptian player to win the Champions League and the English League.”

He concluded: “The ceremony was in coordination with Liverpool and Mohamed Salah’s agent, and we agreed on all the details. Salah appeared for no more than five minutes and there was social distancing, and this was a request from Liverpool.”

Mohamed Salah is scheduled to miss both Togo’s matches, to be played on Saturday night and then Tuesday, in the third and fourth rounds of the African nations qualifiers for Cameroon.

The Egyptian team is in Group G, with each of the group leaders Comoros with five points, and Kenya and Togo.

The Egyptian team has two points, where it occupies third place, one point behind Kenya, on the other hand, the Togolese team is behind the standings with one point.

It is worth noting that the Comoros national team opened the third round matches with a 1-1 draw against Kenya.
