Dr. Mohamed Shawky, head of the Al-Ahly Medical Committee, announced that the Coronavirus-infected trio of the team, along with South African technical director Pitso Mosimane, underwent a medical smear this Friday morning.
Shawki said, in statements relayed by the Yallakora correspondent: “Amr Al-Sulayyah, Muhammad Majdi Afsha and Rami Rabia underwent a new medical smear after they became infected with the new Corona virus last Saturday.
And he added: “The results of the medical swab will appear tomorrow Saturday and we hope it will be negative so that the players can participate in the team’s collective training during the next period.”
Regarding the evolution of the case of Musimani, who is currently in isolation in a hospital, Shawky confirmed: “Musimani also performed a new swab, and it may appear on Friday night or tomorrow Saturday morning.”
The last test performed by Musimani was positive.
Al-Sulaya, Afsha and Rabia were absent from Al-Ahly’s trip to Niger in front of Sonideeb, which Musimani also missed, so the quadruple is subject to treatment according to the medical protocol of the Health Ministry.
And in the light of the results of the swab that Musimani, Al Sulayya, Afsha and Rabia underwent this Friday morning, the date of their return to team training and their presence in official matches will be determined.
The Al-Ahly mission returned to Cairo in the early hours of Thursday, after a trip that lasted almost five and a half hours.
Al-Ahly is currently preparing to face Al-Ittihad of Alexandria next Monday in the third round of the Egyptian Premier League.
It should be noted that Al-Ahly defeated Sunideb on Wednesday with a clean goal from Malian player Aliou Diang, in the match that was played in the capital Niamey in the first leg of the 32nd round of the African Champions League.
