Club Al-Ahly began their physical preparation to face Moroccan Wydad in the semi-finals of the African Champions League on October 17, through clear changes to their domestic matches.

New South African coach Pitso Musimane announced at the press conference that followed his first match with Al-Ahmar against Al-Mokawloon that it would depend on the players resting before the match against Wydad.

In the next match, which is played against Enppi in the 32nd round of the Egyptian Premier League, Musimani decided to implement what he had previously said, and signed eight players, both youth and youth.

Missing

Al-Ahly loses the international duo, Ali Maaloul, for their national mission with Tunisia, and Geraldo for joining the Angola team, while Aliu Badji and Mohamed El-Shennawi will be absent due to short-term injuries, in addition to Ahmed Al- Sheikh.

Al-Ahly lost their defenders Rami Rabia and Mahmoud Metwally with long injuries, as well as Yasser Ibrahim, who was absent due to suspension.

Young

The Al-Ahly list was attended by 8 young people, namely Mustafa Shoubir, Ahmed Tariq, Muhammad Mughrabi, Muhammad Shukri, Faris Tariq, Shady Radwan, Muhammad Fakhry, Arabi Badr.

Coach Mosimane can push as many youngsters into the game, either from the start or as substitutes in the second half, because that will benefit the main players by giving them a longer break.

Physical layout

Musimane does not intend to physically burn his players before facing Wydad, as he stated in his last press conference, as he is likely to retain more of the top players present on the roster on the bench.

The roster included only 14 first-team players, namely Ali Lotfi, Ayman Ashraf, Ahmed Fathi, Muhammad Hani, Hamdi Fathi, Aliu Diang, Amr Al-Soliya, Kahraba, Saleh Jumaa, Walid Suleiman, Hussein Al-Shahat, Muhammad Magdy “Afsha” and Marwan Mohsen and Ajay.

Don’t think about the result

Al-Ahly are always looking for victory, regardless of the circumstances, especially when participating in their favorite championship that has won their title 42 times, but under the current circumstances, the result may not be significant.

Al-Ahly have already decided on the title, and the remaining matches are yet to be won, as they seek to prepare their players only through him to face Wydad in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final.
