The Cairo Criminal Court opened its first session of retrial for Lieutenant General Ahmed Shafiq, former Prime Minister, and 2 others, in the case known in the media as “corruption of the land of the pilots”.

The court, headed by counselor Sorour Muhammad Ahmed, Abu Al-Majd Ahmed Ali and Al-Saeed Ahmed Abdo, confirmed the presence of Shafiq and the second defendant, Ibrahim Ahmed Manna ‘, and found the absence of Tawfiq Mahmoud, the third defendant. .

The prosecution had challenged the acquittal in the “Land of the Pilots Association” case.

Counselor Osama al-Saidi, deputy investigating judge, had referred the defendants to the Criminal Court on September 13, 2012 and ordered the arrest and summons of “Shafiq” and his preventive detention pending the case, with the charge to facilitate the seizure of “Alaa” and “Jamal” in a 40 thousand meter area of ​​land.
