Hala Zayed, Minister of Health, received the British Ambassador to Egypt, Geoffrey Adams, on Wednesday to discuss means of cooperation in the supply of new vaccines against the Corona virus as soon as their effectiveness is proven.

Dr. Khaled Mujahid, Advisor to the Minister of Health and Population for Media Affairs and official spokesperson for the Ministry, explained that the mechanisms to supply the new vaccine against the Corona virus were discussed at the meeting once its effectiveness had been proven, and that a of the main British companies are working on it, especially for priority groups and those with risk factors.
Mujahid added that the minister highlighted the importance of cooperation with various countries in the world and international companies to provide a safe and effective vaccine for the emerging coronavirus, highlighting that the first British citizen obtained a Coronavirus vaccine yesterday, which is a fact. historical and a sign of hope for all countries.
Mujahid went on to say that the minister affirmed Egypt’s commitment to the fair distribution of vaccines as soon as their effectiveness is proven, and noted the cooperation with the Global Vaccine Alliance, “Jaffe” through the “COFEX” initiative to ensure the supply of new vaccines against the Corona virus as soon as their effectiveness is proven and urgently distributed to countries.
Mujahid indicated that the minister thanked the British ambassador for his country’s cooperation with Egypt in tackling the emerging corona virus and working to provide vaccines for the Corona virus through cooperation with British companies operating in this field.
For his part, the British ambassador appreciated the cooperation with Egypt in the supply of vaccines against the new Corona virus, and highlighted the interest of the embassy in fostering cooperation between the two countries in the field of health, especially after the development of the health system in Egypt.
