His Eminence the Grand Imam, Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, was prepared to follow the fire that broke out in one of the back rooms on the third floor of the Al-Azhar Mosque building, ago a few hours, and ordered the departments related to Al-Azhar to follow the course of affairs and take what was necessary promptly, and keep his eminence informed.
He assured the Grand Imam, through his telephone conversation with the Al-Azhar Mosque administration, that the mosque building and its main areas, including recent renovations, would not be affected, and asked for their approval with an urgent report. and complete on the damages caused and the speed of the remediation.
For his part, Dr. Hani Odeh, Director of the Al-Azhar Mosque, said that the fire that broke out in the mosque a while ago was a limited fire in one of the back rooms on the third floor of the mosque, noting that there was been controlled in cooperation with the Civil Protection Forces.
The civil defense forces and the concerned authorities traveled to the Al-Azhar mosque, in the presence of Dr. Abdel Moneim Fouad, general supervisor of the mosque’s scientific corridors, and Dr. Hani Odeh, director of the mosque of Al-Azhar.
