A source from the National Elections Authority confirmed that the funeral of councilor Lashin Ibrahim, head of the National Elections Authority, who died on Friday morning, will leave the mosque in the village of Mit Asem in Benha, Qalyubia province, after of the funeral prayer after the evening prayer.
This morning, the advisor, “Lashin”, passed away, after being infected with the Corona virus at the age of 64, and was mourned by several organizations, including the Coordination of the Youth Party.
The source, who preferred not to be identified, told “Masrawy” that the adviser, “Lashin”, was detained in a private hospital in the city on October 6 for almost a month after being subjected to shortness of breath, and then tests confirmed his Corona infection.
The source indicated that the advisor was renewed by him as head of the National Electoral Authority last October for a period of 3 years, after the end of his first term by decision of the President of the Republic.
Councilor Lashin Ibrahim had held the position of head of the National Electoral Commission, during the last years, as the first president of the commission with the objective of preparing it in accordance with the constitution and assuming the supervision of the presidential elections, sheikhs and deputies.
