The Armant Hospital in Luxor governorate in southern Egypt witnessed the rare birth of a child with his neck cut off.

Dr. Mohamed Ezz El-Din, head of the hospital’s obstetrics and gynecology department, revealed that a cesarean section was performed on a woman who arrived at the hospital with fetal waters and pre-eclampsia, and the necessary tests were immediately performed and a site prepared care for the mother.

He added that after the delivery, the doctor, Muhammad Shukri, who performed the operation, noticed cracks in the child’s skin, so he was sent to the nursery for examination and diagnosis, and it was found that the case suffers from skin syndrome cracked and multiple deformities.

Drug distortions

The head of the hospital’s obstetrics and gynecology service confirmed that this case had not occurred before and is a rare case, which can often occur as a consequence of the mother taking certain medications which in turn lead to the appearance of deformities in the child, especially in early pregnancy, as the child was born with cracks in the skin that increase with movement, resulting in wounds, some of which are more recent. A cut on the neck resembles the state of sacrifice, indicating that the child took her last breath only 24 hours after her birth.

A boy with one eye

Notably, the hospital had previously witnessed one of the rare cases of childbirth, in which a child was discharged from the womb after 7 months of pregnancy with one eye and congenital defects of the brain, heart and lung.

Dr. Muhammad Ezz El-Din, head of the hospital’s women’s department, said it is medically known that the rare condition of the child could not live more than 24 hours after birth with these birth defects, which is what happened when died shortly after his birth.
