On Friday, the Ministry of Health and Population announced that 238 people recovering from the coronavirus have been discharged from hospitals, after receiving the necessary medical care and recovery according to World Health Organization guidelines, raising the total to those that recover from the virus to 106,157 cases to date.
Dr. Khaled Mujahid, Advisor to the Ministry of Health and Population for Media Affairs and official spokesman for the ministry, said that 579 new cases were registered that were positive in laboratory tests of the virus, as part of the necessary surveillance procedures investigation and examination conducted by the ministry in accordance with World Health Organization guidelines, pointing to 26 new deaths.
Mujahid said that according to the World Health Organization recommendations issued on May 27, 2020, the disappearance of symptoms for 10 days after infection is an indication of the patient’s recovery from the Corona virus.
“Mujahid” stated that the total number that was registered in Egypt with the new Corona virus as of Friday is 124,280 cases, including 106,157 cured cases and 7,041 deaths.
