Al-Ahly’s ranking among the world’s clubs saw a huge leap, after their victory over Morocco’s Wydad in the semi-finals of the African Champions League, to enter the list of the 50 best clubs in the world.

Al-Ahly were ranked 59th in the world in the football database rankings in September, before jumping in the last update in October, after beating Wydad in the first leg, specifically 2-0 in Morocco, 12 places to occupy position 47 of the world ranking.

The jump also witnessed the crossing of the Saudi Crescent, to rank first at the Arab level as well, after previously ranking second in the Arab world.

At the African level, the children of the Red Castle consolidated their position at the top of the table, beating Esperance of Tunisia, second classified, and the Congolese Mazembe, third, then Zamalek fourth and fifth Sudanese Al-Merrekh.

It is noteworthy that Bayern Munich occupies first place in the world ranking, followed by Paris Saint-Germain, third, Liverpool and Real Madrid, fourth, while Barcelona occupies fifth place.
