Today, Thursday, the Ministry of Health and Population announced that it registered 269 new cases that were positive for its laboratory tests of the emerging coronavirus (Covid-19), and the death of 12 new cases.
The ministry said in a statement today that the new wounded, including 3 foreigners, are part of the ministry’s surveillance and investigation procedures, according to guidelines from the World Health Organization.
The ministry did not elaborate on the 12 deaths.
For his part, Dr. Khaled Mujahid, Advisor to the Minister of Health and Population for Media Affairs, revealed that 46 of those infected with the Corona virus have been discharged from isolation and quarantine hospitals, all of them Egyptians, after receiving the necessary medical attention and completing their recovery according to the guidelines of the World Health Organization, bringing the total number of people recovering from the virus to 1,381 cases to date.
He clarified that the number of cases whose laboratory results have been transformed from positive to negative for the Corona virus increased to 1,780 cases, including 1,381 recovered.
Mujahid said that all registered HIV positive cases in isolation and quarantine hospitals are subject to medical care, according to guidelines from the World Health Organization.
“Mujahid” stated that the total number recorded in Egypt with the new Corona virus as of Thursday is 5,537 cases, including 1,381 cases that have been cured and released from isolation and quarantine hospitals, and 392 deaths.
The Ministry of Health and Population continues to increase its preparations in all provinces, follows the situation first hand with respect to the “emerging crown” virus and takes all necessary precautions against any virus or infectious disease, as the “105” hotline and “15335” have been assigned to receive citizen inquiries about an emerging and infectious disease Corona virus.
