Spain has registered the lowest number of daily deaths in Corona in more than a month

He said in an interview with the agency “Novosti” published today: “There are many unknowns to predict the next waves. There is an opinion that it will be stronger than the current wave, while others believe, on the contrary, that it will come in a way more moderate. We need to prepare for the worst. ” When I say we must prepare for the worst, it does not mean that I am sure it will be worse. “

“Furthermore, I hope that as the virus develops, and despite its greater ability to spread, it will lose its level of ability to cause deaths,” added Aguado, professor at the Miguel Hernández University of Alicante and official representative of the Spanish Society. Health Administration and Public Health (Cispas).

In his opinion, there will be a serious test of the health system, if the new wave of COVID-19 coincides with the influenza pandemic.

The epidemiologist noted that “medical services must support all their capabilities to keep up with the situation that we observe at the height of” the spread of the virus.

Aguadu emphasized that “the health system must have a clear plan if the second wave of the epidemic begins.”

He admitted that, although Spain has a good scientific base, it does not have enough qualified epidemiologists to work directly with patients, and this problem must also be addressed.

According to Aguadu, the quarantine in Spain should start to increase gradually, mainly from those areas where the disease has limited spread, such as the Balearic and Canary Islands, or sparsely populated areas in various autonomous regions, such as Andalusia.

Today, Tuesday, the Spanish cabinet must approve an initial plan for the gradual lifting of the quarantine.
