New Valley Governor: Two deaths and 14 cases of Corona in the Interior

Maj. Gen. Mohamed Zamalout, Governor of the New Valley, said the total number of Corona virus infections in the governorate increased to 14 cases, in addition to two deaths, all from the Dakhla Center and from workers and wounded who visited the Hospital General Dakhla.

The Governor indicated that a crisis management cell had been established at the Dakhla Center, led by Hanan Majdi, Deputy Governor Sayed Mahmoud, Assistant Secretary-General of the Interior and Assistant Secretary of the Ministry of Health, and executive and security leaders in the middle.

The governor stated, in a press release, on Sunday, that the total number of suspicions from the beginning of the crisis until now is 224 cases at the government level, and that all the department’s employees, including doctors, nurses and Workers at Dakhla General Hospital were examined in addition to examining those in contact with them.

The Governor noted that it was decided to partially close Dakhla General Hospital, and that work there would be limited to emergency departments, intensive care, childcare and dialysis, while daily cleaning and sterilization work continues.

The Governor confirmed that he had issued instructions to reduce the employees of the local units in the Dakhla Center to just 5% of the workers, and to prevent the movement of workers from the villages to their workplace in the city, with the suspension of the mass transportation between the centers of the province, as well as mass transportation between the city of Mout and its villages, and limited to private transportation.

Al-Zamlout highlighted the need for citizens to take precautions and avoid being present in crowded places as much as possible.
