Surgeon Yang Ming made a speculum for the girl to determine the foreign object, which lasted 30 minutes, while evacuating a lighted tube and a small camera from her mouth through the bronchi to her lungs.
Dr. Ming was able to find the mysterious object in the girl’s right lung, and when he took it out it turned out to be a 2 cm piece of chicken bone.
Doctors suggested that the bone could have entered the girl’s lung when she was young when inhaled through the nose.
