Efforts continue to re-float the 400-meter-long container ship EverGiven, which has been closing Egypt’s Suez Canal since Tuesday.
Excavators are removing sand and mud from the bow, while tugs and ship cranes are being used in an effort to move it.
On Thursday, the company that owns Evergiven, Japan’s Choi Kensen, apologized for the effects of the accident on the traffic of ships waiting to pass through the canal.
He said he was doing everything he could, together with local authorities and boat operators, to solve the problem, but cautioned that it was very difficult.
