The Council of the Media Union headed by the deputy Dr. Tariq Saada, head of the Media Union and member of the Senate, today, Decision No. (10) of 2021 canceling the permission for the exercise of the profession granted to the journalist “Tamer Amin “for violating the Media Honor Letter and the Code of Professional Conduct.
Article 2 of Law No. 93 of 2016 issued on the Media Union provides for the establishment of a professional media union with legal personality, whose main headquarters are in the Cairo governorate, and the union may establish branches for him in the governorates, as determined by their internal regulations.
The union enjoys independence in the development of its activities to achieve the objectives assigned to it. Media activity cannot be practiced in any of the media except for a person from the media or for those who have obtained a temporary permission to do so in accordance with the provisions of this law.
Article 19 also stipulates that the practice of media activity is prohibited to those who are not registered in the hours of the Union or who have obtained a temporary permission to do so.
Consequently, it is not allowed that whoever does not obtain a membership in the Media Union or a permit to practice the profession, appear on the screen and present any program, and then “Secretary” will not appear on the screen of “Al – Nahar ”for the entire period of cancellation of his permit to practice the profession.
Tariq Saada, the head of the Media Union and a member of the Senate, said that Tamer Amin was investigated for a period of 3 hours because of his insulting statements against the women of Upper Egypt.
