Lieutenant General Engineer Kamel Al-Wazir, Minister of Transportation, responded to Eng. Naguib Sawiris’s tweet about building an express electric train from Ain Sokhna, not from Hurghada.
The minister said, in a telephone interview with the “Al Hekaya” program on MBC Egypt on Saturday night, “The engineer Naguib Sawiris is a dear friend, he just wants to start the express train from the trench towards the city of El Gouna “And added: This is your right.”
The Minister of Transport confirmed that the second phase of the electric train will extend to “Hurghada, Safaga, Qena and Luxor”, saying: “I am at your comfort … the train goes to Hurghada … but we will pay you the price of the station in El Gouna ”. For the transport of phosphates, aluminum and imports from the port of Safaga, another objective is to serve tourists.
He continued, “Orascom (owned by the Sawiris family) participates with the German Siemens in the implementation of the project,” explaining that the state implements this network for all citizens.
Businessman Naguib Sawiris had written a tweet on Twitter, saying, “Anyone who understands that this express train is from Ain Sokhna to Al-Alamein … not from Cairo, for example, or Hurghada?”
