Ihab Khorshid, brother of the late artist Amr Khorshid, has come under harsh criticism after publicly gloating over the death of Safwat al-Sharif, former Minister of Information and former spokesman for the Shura Council, after writing a blog showing the celebrations of the Khurshid family for Sharif’s death, as if he was sentenced to be the one who killed his brother, the guitarist. For almost 40 years, without providing evidence that he had done so, his Facebook followers demanded that he not gloat over the dead, regardless of the degree of rivalry.

Ihab al-Sharif published, through his Facebook account, two posts since the death of Safwat al-Sharif, the first, on January 14, immediately after the death of the former Minister of Information, who appears to have re-posted a old blog that was removed, but his comment remained visible to his followers, saying: Khorshid Family, republished in celebration of the death of Safwat Al-Sharif.
As for the second pamphlet, in which he publicly alluded to the murder of his brother’s Sharif, when he indicated that he will now receive the condolences of his brother, who died in 1981 and after almost 40 years, saying: “We would like to remind our brothers that they have what he has and what he owes, according to the saying of the Sheikh of Islam, Imam Al-Hafiz bin The stone of God’s mercy upon Him. And the last secretary general of the “dissolved” National Party, after a long struggle with the disease, died, as he suffered from leukemia.
Safwat Al-Sharif
While guitarist Omar Khorshid died, on May 29, 1981, according to press reports at the time, he died in an accident after chasing an unknown car on Haram Street, while his wife escaped the accident.
