Dr. Ashraf Noyer, head of Egypt’s Civil Aviation Authority, confirmed that Egyptian airspace had been opened for Qatari airlines to cross Egyptian airspace, Tuesday, after the announcement of the lifting of the air ban on the Qatari aviation, which lasted three years.
Noyer added, during press releases, that Egypt’s Civil Aviation Authority had approved requests submitted by the Doha authorities to allow Qatari planes to cross Egyptian airspace, explaining that, in fact, at dawn today, the first Qatari aircraft was able to cross Egyptian airspace after the decision to lift the ban.
The head of the Civil Aviation Authority indicated that according to the decision to lift the ban, Qatari airlines have the right to resume flights with Egypt, but so far no date has been set for that or the Qatari authorities are requesting to resume their flights to Cairo, but what has been done is to allow only the crossing of airspace.
