Egyptian defender Ahmed Hegazy, since his transfer to the Saudi Jeddah team on October 25, 2020, has contributed to the team’s return to compete again for the Saudi League championship, after the team ended its campaign last season in a late position and narrowly escaped descent.

Months ago, the Jeddah Federation signed a contract with Hijazi after two rounds of the Saudi Professional League competition had passed, where he had lost the contract in the league opener with two goals per goal, followed by a draw against Al -Fath with two goals for each team.

Since Hijazi’s transfer to the Jeddah Federation, the team has not relished the loss, whether in the league championship there or even at the level of the Arab championship, which made it to the final hours ago at the expense of Saudi youth.

Hijazi led his team, Al-Ittihad Jeddah, to beat Al-Shabab Saudi Arabia in the semi-final (2-1) after drawing (2-2) to reach the final.

But Ahmed Hegazy received a warning in the first leg in the second minute, before receiving another warning in the second leg in the 57th minute, to be suspended in the final.

In the presence of Hijazi, the federal team managed to reach fourth place in the Saudi League table with 18 points, and Al-Ahly is preceded with 22 points in second place, and Al-Shabab is in third place with 19 points, and Al-Ittihad is only 6 points behind leader Al-Hilal.

In the league, Hijazi has played 9 games with Al-Ittihad Jeddah so far, without losing any of them, as he won against Al-Ahly, Al-Qadisiyah, Al-Wahda and Al-Batin, and drew against Al-Taawon, Al-Faisali, Al-Shabab, Al-Raed and Al-Hilal.

The Jeddah Union team was able to score 17 points out of 18 in their result so far, with the participation of Ahmed Hegazy.

In the King’s Cup competition, the Al Ittihad Jeddah team, accompanied by Ahmed Hegazy, managed to beat Al-Wehda with 3 unanswered goals.
