Jeddah defender Ahmed Hegazy revealed his nervousness in the second half over his yellow card in the youth match.
Al-Ittihad Jeddah managed to qualify for the Arab Championship final after defeating the young Saudi 2-1 in deadly time in the semi-final leg.
Hijazi said on Abu Dhabi TV: “I was very nervous in the second half because of the yellow card and I thought I would not play the final.”
He continued: “The result was not in our favor, but maybe not nervous, but I really wanted to win.”
“This is one of the most important games of the season,” added Hegazy. “Our main objective was to reach the final, and we have been preparing for some time with the management and the coaching staff.”
And on not losing to Al-Ittihad in 12 games since his arrival, he explained, “I must give the players their right, from the first training session they help me look good.”
He stressed, “The loss or gain is calculated for the entire team, from the first board of directors to the technical staff, I seek to add them up.”
Speaking about the possibility of Ismaily qualifying for the club he grew up in, Hegazy said: “I wish you success and reach the final.”
Ismaily beat the Moroccan Raja with an unanswered goal in the first leg, and the return leg is scheduled for next week.
“But I hope we win because I belong to the federation, the team I play for,” he added.
He concluded his comments: “This is our goal of winning the title and I wish the Ismaili success in all tournaments.”
