Walid Manzoor, doctor for the Egypt Youth Team, confirmed that Rabie Yassin, the team’s former coach, was the main reason for the team’s many infections of the team’s players with the Corona virus before participating in the North African tournament.
Manzoor said in remarks on MBC Egypt that Rabie Yassin had contracted the Coronavirus in Cairo before traveling to Tunisia, in conjunction with his insistence on meeting with the team’s players for several hours indoors.
The youth team doctor said: “I asked the players to distance themselves during Friday prayers or daily homework, as well as at bedtime, but Rabie Yaseen stopped and said that I am the doctor and I am responsible. “.
He continued: “We had no money or budget in Tunisia, we needed money to achieve a space between the players in the rooms instead of the presence of all in one room, until Ferjani Sassi transferred money to us.”
He added: “I opposed more than one thing in the camp, but my role is limited to informing the coach of that, but everyone knows that Rabie Yassin cannot speak to him in the Football Association.”
He added: “Could anyone stop the mission from traveling ahead of time ?! Rabie Yaseen himself said that I am responsible for anything that happens. Why is he the only coach who was injured?”
He explained: “All members of the coaching and medical staff refused to be with the national team in prolonged meetings, except for Rabei Yassin, because he is the only one who always meets with the players in closed places.”
He concluded: “Rabie Yassin was infected with the Corona virus in Cairo and traveled to Tunisia, and I confirm it, and he was infected by two team administrators, and this trio is the one who infected the players.”
