The governorate of Alexandria launched a massive campaign from the administrations of the Alexandria Central neighborhood, in coordination with the Health Directorate, on Sunday night, targeting “Hyper Carrefour” and several stores in the “City Center” shopping center in the Muharram Bey Police Department, when the “hyper” was closed.
Today, a similar campaign by Al-Muntazah Al-Awal closed another branch of “Hyper Carrefour” at the “City Light” shopping center in the Al-Suyouf area, on Mustafa Kamel Road.
The campaigns to close the two centers come from a lack of commitment to precautionary measures to face the emerging coronavirus (Covid-19), and a lack of commitment to social distancing.
Social media activists circulated images showing unprecedented congestion at the two shopping centers, and the crowding of citizens with no obligation to wear muzzles and social distancing, within the two centers, in conjunction with annual cuts and offers.
It is noteworthy that the government began to apply immediate fines to violators of precautionary measures to confront the Corona virus, after it crossed the viral infection barrier of more than 1,000 infections per day.
According to the Council of Ministers, an immediate fine of 50 pounds will be charged for those who are not obliged to wear a mask, and an immediate fine of 4 thousand pounds for the offending establishments, leaving the facility administratively closed for one week.
The decision includes wearing a muzzle in government agencies, banks, public and collective transport, minibuses, taxis and all means of transport, while private car owners are excluded.
