Dr. Khaled Mujahid, Advisor to the Minister of Health and Population for Media Affairs and official spokesman of the Ministry, explained that based on the reports of the Central Committee, the Minister ordered to form it as soon as the death of 4 patients occurred with the new Corona virus at the Al Husseiniya Central Hospital in the Eastern Governorate to determine the conditions in the hospital, including the medical oxygen situation and the cases present in Ventilators, it has been shown that the number of beds occupied in the Al Husseiniya Hospital and connected to The oxygen network includes (11 cases in nurseries, two cases under the auspices of the Department of Internal Medicine and 3 cases with cardiac care), in addition to 7 cases of intensive care for patients with Coronavirus and 33 cases in the isolation department for infected with the virus, all of them are provided. “Mujahid” added that the hospital gas network is operating with high efficiency, since yesterday the tank contained 500 liters of medical oxygen gas, in addition to the presence of a backup gas network in the hospital connected to 24 cylinders of medical oxygen, and the presence of 45 oxygen cylinders as a strategic stock in the hospital, adding that all hospital departments are fully operational and all patients receive the necessary medical care.

Mujahid pointed out that the 4 deaths that occurred yesterday in the intensive care unit of the Al Husseiniya Hospital died in different periods of time, and most of them were older people who suffered from chronic diseases and presented pathological complications as a result of their infection by the Coronavirus, which caused the deterioration of his health and his death.

Mujahid went on to say that regarding the death of two patients at Zefta General Hospital in Gharbia governorate, Dr. Hala Zayed, Minister of Health and Population, Dr. Mustafa Ghanima, head of the curative medicine sector, has appointed a central committee of the ministry as soon as the incident occurs to investigate it and take all legal measures against anyone who proves non-compliance.

He noted that initial investigations revealed that the two deaths were infected with the Coronavirus and in critical condition, suffering from chronic illnesses and ventilators, adding that at the time of the incident, there were 4 cases in the hospital in emergency departments with a ” oxygen mask “and 3 cases in the infirmary with ventilators. And 3 cases in oxygen sessions with childcare, 27 cases in medium intensive care for patients with the emerging coronavirus, 4 cases in the burn department with ventilators and 7 patients in regular intensive care with ventilators, explaining that the tank of oxygen at that time was filled with (5400) liter), in addition to the presence of 24 oxygen cylinders filled with medicinal gases, indicating that the Public Ministry is investigating the incident to determine the causes of death.

Mujahid claimed that the state sought to provide adequate medical oxygen reserves in all hospitals in the republic since the start of the emerging corona virus pandemic, in cooperation with major gas companies, which continuously supply oxygen to hospitals and provide sufficient reserves. strategic to meet all the needs of the health sector, especially for patients with the Corona virus.
