To complete the mission, Paris Saint-Germain announced the signing of Mauricio Pochettino to officially coach the team.
Pochettino must complete more than one mission. Thomas Tuchel’s mission is to win local championships with Paris Saint-Germain, and the task of moving the continental team to a different position after reaching the Champions League final last season, and his mission is finally started personally a player in the ranks of the team from 2001 to 2003.
The French club announced through the official website, the contract with Pochettino, a contract until the end of the season, with the right to automatically extend the contract for one more season if the parties so agree.
Pochettino succeeds Thomas Tuchel, the former German coach of Paris Saint-Germain, who led the team from 2018 to 2020.
The first experience will be for the 48-year-old Argentine coach in the French League, after three previous experiences at Espanyol in the Spanish League, then at Southampton and Tottenham in England.
Pochettino led Tottenham since May 2014 in 293 games in all competitions, winning 160, drawing 60 and losing 73, until his dismissal in December 2019.
Paris Saint-Germain are currently third in the Ligue 1 standings, with 35 points, one point behind leaders Lyon.
The capital club also signed against Barcelona on matchday 16 of the European Champions League.
Pochettino’s first match will be with Paris Saint-Germain next Wednesday against Saint-Etienne, on the 18th matchday of the competition.
