Today Thursday, the Supreme Council of Universities held an emergency meeting headed by Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and in the presence of Dr. Muhammad Latif, Secretary of the Supreme Council of Universities and rectors of universities, through videoconference technology, in implementation of the Rector’s directives.
The Council valued the guidelines issued by the President of the Republic and the decisions issued by the Council of Ministers, which were in the interest of the safety of students, teachers, support staff and all university employees, which stipulate the following :
• Complete the study remotely, through e-learning platforms in all public, private and private universities, and governmental and private higher institutes, from Saturday, January 2 to Saturday, January 16, 2020, starting the mid-year holidays from Saturday, January 16, 2020 to Saturday, February 20, 2020.
Postpone all oral and practical exams at all levels of undergraduate education and graduate studies, at all public, private and private universities, and governmental and private colleges until the end of the vacation semester.
• Form a committee to follow up on the implementation of the decisions of the Supreme Council of Universities and respond to queries related to the implementation of the decisions, and to overcome all obstacles that the implementation of the decisions may face.
• Stop and suspend all activities, conferences and festivals within public and private universities, government and private institutions.
