The English Football Association announced the suspension of Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani for three games and a fine of 100,000 pounds for the word “racist” on communication sites.

Cavani, 33, responded to a friend’s “Instagram” congratulation by saying, “Thank you Negrito” after beating Southampton 3-2 in the Premier League last month in a match in which he scored. Former French striker double for Paris Saint-Germain.
Cavani deleted what he had written later, before apologizing, saying: “The message I wrote after the game was a warm greeting to a friend, to thank him for the congratulations after the game.”
He added that he never intended to insult anyone, adding: “I am against any racist language and behavior, and I deleted the message as soon as it informed me that it could be misunderstood. I would like to sincerely apologize for that.”

The Football Association stated that Cavani had until January 4 to respond to the sanction, but Manchester United announced in an official statement that Cavani would not object.
Cavani will miss United’s matches against Aston Villa in the Premier League, Manchester City in the League Cup and Watford in the FA Cup.
