Execution of persons accused of dragging and killing the “Maadi Girl” and innocence of the owner of the “Microbus”

On Wednesday, the Cairo Criminal Court sentenced to death those accused of dragging victim Maryam, the famous “Maadi Girl” for her robbery, at 87th Street, intersection with 9th Street at Maadi Barracks, and the court acquitted the third defendant, “owner of the minibus”.

The judgment was delivered under the direction of Counselor Wajih Shaqwer and the membership of advisers Abdul Majeed Abdel Latif, Ashraf Abdel Wahab Kamal El Din Ashmawy, Ayman Abdel Razek Mohamed, Secretary of Sir Saeed Abdul Sattar and Mahmoud Abdel Rashid.

The two defendants had confessed to the investigating authorities that they had committed the incident, and the first defendant, the “driver”, said that he had been working on his minibus for more than a year, since he was working on it in the passenger line ” Maadi-Dar Al-Salam “. The owner of the car, Muhammad Abdulaziz, confirmed that on the day of the accident The defendant came at seven in the morning, received the car as usual, and left it in front of his house at eight at night, and was confused and not I talked to him about nothing unusual every day. The owner of the car added in the investigations that he did not know anything about the accident until he was arrested from his home for asking who was driving the car at the time of the accident, and guided the first defendant.

The Prosecutor’s Office decided to detain the accused for a period of 4 days pending investigations into the murder of Maryam, the “enemy girl.” A Cairo investigation force escorted the defendants, after they confessed in the investigation report to the charges against them of attempting to rob the victim under duress and being associated with the crime of murder.
