An official source from the Endowments Ministry said that the Damietta Endowments Directorate decided to close several mosques on Tuesday, for not adhering to the precautionary measures to face the Coronavirus, in the first implementation of the Endowments Minister’s decision to authorize the agents the Ministry to close mosques that do not follow procedures.
On Tuesday, the Damietta Endowments Directorate formed a committee consisting of Sheikh Hani Antar al-Sebaei, convocation director, department directors and inspectors, to pass the mosques, follow up on cleaning, disinfection and sterilization operations, adhere to precautionary measures and do not tolerate violators.
As a result of the committee’s approval, the following mosques were closed:
1. Al-Sawalem Mosque in Kafr Al-Arab Faraskur
2. Rahman Mosque in Kafr Al-Arab Faraskur
3. Al-Dabbousi Mosque in Kafr Suleiman Kafr Saad
4. Abu Al-Ezz Mosque in Kafr Suleiman Kafr Saad
5. Kafr Shehata Kafr Saad Grand Mosque
6. Mosque of Light and Mercy in Sawalem Kafr Saad
7. Abdullah Al-Salihin Mosque in Ghunaimiyah Farskur
The Minister of Endowments, after performing the noon prayer at the Al-Nour Mosque, decided on Tuesday to close the mosque and its courtyard, and not allow it to be opened for a period of two weeks, for not adhering to the muzzle and the room of personal prayer.
The Minister of Endowments decided to deduct 10 days from each imam to the imam of the mosque and all workers assigned to work in the mosque today, with an emphasis on all visitors to the houses of Almighty God, who adhere to wear a mask, accompany the personal prayer room and observe social distancing, highlighting that the ministry will have to close any mosque.
