The tripartite management committee of the Football Association chaired by Ahmed Mujahid is studying the cancellation of the application of video technology in the Egyptian league, following the dispute that arose between the Football Association and the Spanish company responsible for the application of the technology recently, as the Football Association considers that there are many technical problems in the application of technology in the Egyptian league, to which is added the problem of infiltration control. .

The Football Association proposes to the clubs in the morning session at the Jabaliya headquarters, the continuation of the technology with these problems, and in case of approval from the clubs, Ahmed Mujahid will ask the clubs to bear part of the cost of their implementation, and in case the clubs reject this matter, the cancellation of the video technology application in the Egyptian League will be seriously considered.

A crisis broke out in the last hours after the Spanish company responsible for the application of video technology in the Egyptian league, sent a letter to the Football Association requesting the payment of 100,000 euros, which are the company’s fees. due to the application of technology in the new 2020-2021 league, in addition to some late installments from the last season, according to the agreement between the Spanish company and the previous five-year management committee of the Football Association headed by Amr Al-Ganaini In return, the tripartite management committee of the Football Association headed by Ahmed Mujahid refuses to pay the amount to the company, claiming that there are some observations about the application of the technology in the Egyptian league.

It is known that the previous five-year committee of the Football Association reached an agreement with the Spanish company, to apply the mouse in Egypt for a period of 3 and a half years, and the Football Association chose the route of financial leasing that ends with the sale, which guarantees that all assets will be owned by the Football Association at the end of the implementation period (3 and a half years) So that the entire project, with its assets and all that was spent on it, is the exclusive property of the Football Association, which maximizes the Federation’s assets and guarantees Egyptian football a historic qualitative leap and a real guarantee for its advancement.

The Football Association fully assumes the cost of implementing video technology in the Egyptian League, after a large number of Premier League clubs refused to bear part of the cost of the technology, starting in the second round of last league, and the clubs returned their rejection of the heavy financial burdens on them this season, along with their conviction that the Football Association should bear the full cost of being responsible for organizing the tournament, in addition to obtaining a economic return for broadcasting league matches. Officials from the Football Association stated that the cost of implementing the “VAR” in the Egyptian league reaches one million euros per season, equivalent to approximately 18 million Egyptian pounds, for approximately 3,000 euros per match, in case the devices are rented and not purchased.
