Unidentified gunmen killed more than 100 people in a village in western Ethiopia, according to the Ethiopian Human Rights Commission.

A medical source told the BBC that more than 30 people were taken to a local clinic, some of them in critical condition.

The attackers shot some of the victims, while others were stabbed, according to the medical source.

The attack took place in the Penishangul-Gumuz region on Wednesday, a day after Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed visited.
