And the Ministry of Agriculture confirmed that the new giraffes arrived at the airport at nine in the morning and have not yet left, because the veterinary quarantine and the Institute of Animal Health are taking all precautionary measures and carrying out all the necessary controls to ensure that that they are free of all diseases, epidemics and viruses, and these procedures take three hours and may be more hours. much.

The reception of new giraffes comes after hiring two female giraffes and one male giraffe, since giraffes are imported according to international requirements, and through exchange programs for endangered animals to solve the problems of accumulation or deficit in some wild animals..

Dr. Mohamed Rajaei, head of the central administration of zoos, had confirmed in statements to “The Seventh Day”, the arrival of 3 giraffes from South Africa to the Giza Zoo, as they were embarked on a plane dedicated to the transport of animals from the country of origin, and contracting with a private company for equipped cars to take to the zoo after your arrival.

Rajai emphasized that despite Giza Zoo’s declining revenue due to the Corona crisis, his administration managed to bring in many endangered animals through the exchange system, including approving the import of 3 new giraffes. in exchange for the hippo known as “Master Qeshta” and various water rams. He explained that the importation of giraffes is carried out in accordance with international requirements, to solve the problems of overcrowding and deficits in some wild animals.
