Behind the scenes of a meeting enough to resolve the headquarters of the Super African

The Moroccan daily Al-Mukhtab revealed the venues for the African Union meeting last Thursday to decide the venue for the African Super Cup to be played between Al-Ahly, CAF Champions League champion, and the champion of the Confederation Cup, Borkan.

The African Football Confederation (CAF) announced on December 10 the installation of the African Super Cup in the State of Qatar, instead of Egypt -as previously announced-, provided that the meeting takes place in the first half of next year 2021 (See official statement).

The daily Al-Mukhtab said that Congolese Constant Omari Soleimani – CAF interim president – was decisive during Thursday’s meeting, which he presided over with his executive office, and with great experience dominated matters.

The newspaper added that the meeting was delayed for two hours, due to Omari communicating with Qatari officials and coordinating with Faouzi Lakjaa, president of the Moroccan Football Federation.

The newspaper cited what Omari said to members of the Executive Office about the party, where he said: “We have an agenda that includes many important axes, so the history of the supermarket is almost settled. There is a contract and agreement signed with the Qatar Football Association that must be respected, and consequently the Super will play in Doha and we will study the calendar. ” And the date after the coordination with the organizing authorities ”.

The “team” indicated that the members of the executive office had not registered any objection to Omari’s words, so it was agreed by acclamation that the Super African would return to Qatar.

On the other hand, the newspaper mentioned several reasons for the accession of the Moroccan Berkane Renaissance to celebrate the match in Doha (Qatar) and refused to hold it in Egypt.

He explained that the principle of equal opportunities supported the Moroccan team in his position, in addition to the club’s insistence on refusing to politicize things.

It should be noted that Moroccan reports indicated that the match will be played on February 17, but the CAF has not announced any official details about the match schedule so far.
