Tottenham Hotspur manager José Mourinho criticized Liverpool manager Juergen Klopp following his team’s 2-1 defeat in the English Premier League, and the Portuguese found an opportunity to rekindle his old feud with Pep Guardiola.
“I told him the best team lost and he did not agree with me, but this is his opinion. By the way, if I acted like he is behaving on the bench, I would not have stayed and they would fire him in an instant,” he said Mourinho at the “Amazon Prime” service when asked about his sharp conversation with Klopp after the final whistle.
When asked about Klopp’s “interaction” during the match, Mourinho replied: “Interact? Interact? Or do you want me to remove the screen from the hands of the fourth official?”
The latest response was a reference to Manchester City manager Guardiola’s reaction to injury time during his team’s draw with West Bromwich Albion on Tuesday when he snatched the screen from the fourth official.

When asked if Klopp’s behavior crossed the line, Mourinho said there was a double standard.
“For some reason, I’m different. And that’s it.”
Mourinho told the BBC in a separate interview: “Everything is fine for us. The referees let him act on his own terms. This is not my problem. It saddens me that I can’t do it, but that’s the case.”
Klopp seemed surprised when asked about his conversation with Mourinho after the game.
He said: “It wasn’t a heated discussion at all. He wasn’t happy that he told me that the best team lost and I thought he was joking, but he wasn’t. That’s it.”
