Know the cases of deduction of the balance of the prepaid electricity meter, despite the absence of fees or debts

Complaints abound from many citizens who use prepaid meters, of discounting money when recharging balance with the prepaid meter, despite the absence of monthly payments or subscriber debts.

For its part, the Regulatory Agency for Public Services of Electricity and Consumer Protection revealed cases in which sums of money are deducted when collecting a prepaid against balance, as follows:

1- Deduction of the value of the depreciation difference, which is:

– 22 EGP will be deducted from the balance at the counter when consumption exceeds 100 kilowatt hours.

– An amount of 139 pounds will be deducted from the meter balance when the amount of consumption exceeds 650 kilowatt hours.

An amount of EGP 270 will be deducted from the meter balance when consumption exceeds 1000 kilowatt hours.

2- Deduction for customer service from the balance at the counter at the end of the month, and it is calculated as follows:

1- The first tranche from 0 to 50 kilowatts (pounds).

2- The second group of 51 to 100 kilowatts (two pounds).

3- The third group from 0 to 200 kilowatts (6 pounds).

4- The fourth tranche from 201 to 350 kilowatts (11 pounds).

5- The fifth stand from 351 to 650 kilowatts (15 pounds).

6- Sixth bracket (more than 650 to 1000) from zero to 1000 kilowatts (25 pounds).

7- The seventh group is over 1000 kilowatts (40 pounds).

8- The recitation of zero (9 pounds).

3- Legally prescribed rates and stamps at the end of the month.
