An official source from the Football Association revealed that the youth team, born in 2001, is liable to sanction negligence due to the presence of more than 13 cases of players infected by the Corona virus, before the Libyan team faced today, Tuesday, in the North African qualifiers held in Tunisia that qualify for the 2021 African Nations in Mauritania. The source added that the regulation stipulates that “if the team does not have a minimum number of players (11 players including a goalkeeper + 4 substitutes), that is, 15 players to play the game, the team will be considered the loser with a score of 3 -0, which does not apply to The Young Pharaohs so far, as the team has only 14 players who can compete in the match.

In a related development, the youth team asked the CAF to celebrate the match today, with 14 or 15 players, as the team awaits the result of Mr. Attia, the Zamalek goalkeeper, if his negativity is confirmed.

The result of the swabbing that the youth underwent yesterday yielded a negative sample of 3 players for the Corona virus, raising to 14 the number of uninfected players that can be challenged.

In the same context, the negative sample of the player Mustafa Ashraf, son of the Minister of Youth and Sports, of the Corona virus, who is on the list of the Egyptian youth team that is preparing to face the Libyan team, was confirmed.

In this context, Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, said that communication continues with Amr Al-Ganaini, President of the Football Association, and Ambassador Ihab Fahmy, Egyptian Ambassador to Tunisia, to verify the mission of the Egyptian youth team, and that he contacted Rabie Yassin, technical director of the team, to follow up on the case of those infected with Corona.

The Sports Minister confirmed, in televised statements, that Dr. Jamal Mohamed Ali, Vice President of the Football Association, traveled to Tunisia to verify the mission.
