Pyramids forward Dudu Al-Gabas revealed the reason for the expulsion of his colleague Ramadan Sobhi, after the end of his team’s match against Al-Ittihad of Alexandria (1-2), yesterday Saturday, in the first round of the Egyptian Football League.
Al-Gabas confirmed that Ramadan spoke to match referee Mohamed Al-Sabahi for not counting a penalty kick in the 93rd minute, before Khaled Metwally scored the fatal goal for Al-Ittihad Alexandria, to win the match.
Al-Gabas stated that the verdict responded to Ramadan’s protest by saying that the mistake made against him is “weak” and does not require a sanction.
Al-Gabas added that the word “weak” enraged Ramadan, who became very emotional, prompting Al-Sabahi to show the second yellow card to his face and expel him.
For his part, the former captain of the Egyptian team, Ahmed Hassan, said in statements on the “Falcon Stadium” program: “Ramadan Sobhi is a good player, but he must moderate himself, especially after being sent off. He attacked the referee after the match because a penalty was not awarded, and he said: “(He will stay in color … if he had counted it in one place).
The match between Al Ittihad of Alexandria was the first of Ramadan with his new team, Pyramids, who joined him during recent summer transfers from Al-Ahly.
