A source from the African Football Confederation, CAF, said that the African Super Match will be held in Qatar’s capital Doha.
The Al-Ahly club will face their Moroccan counterpart, Nahdet Berkane, as the former won the African Champions League title at the expense of Zamalek, while Nahdet Berkane won the Confederation Cup title at the expense of the Pyramids.
The African Football Confederation had previously announced that the tournament will be played in Cairo in its current version, following an agreement between the CAF and the Qatar Federation, which was later rejected by the Moroccan team.
A source from CAF’s executive office, currently in meeting, said through Laila Kora’s statements that it has been decided that the African Super will be in the State of Qatar for the current version.
The African Football Confederation (CAF) had signed a contract with the Qatar Federation whereby the Super Cup would be held in the capital, Doha, for 3 years, of which only two were played.
Moroccan Raja defeated Esperance in the first edition, which took place in 2018, while Zamalek defeated Esperance in the second edition of 2019.
